Griffin Models started as a natural continuation of a hobby, a passion. For over 20 years I was collecting my own collection of Saab models in scale 1:43. At one moment I noticed that there are too many missing models in the collection, not because I have not found them, but because they have never been produced. It turned out that many of the outstanding cars throughout the Saab history have not been noticed by the scale models manufacturers. This is why I decided it is my duty to find a way to make the missing scale models. Thus, from a collector I became a manufacturer.

    We are proud to say that our scale models are not a copy of other models. Everything you are seeing has been made from scratch. Every single detail is carefully designed so that it fits the requirements for joining the parts and for other technological processes. The process of creating the scale models especially in white metal is very long and complicated, but soon it will be presented under a special section of the web site. We hope you will find it interesting!

    Due to technical issues it was neccessary to change my decal supplier. Our new partner are from Russia, and their first exclusive sets made for Griffin models are expected in about 2 weeks from now.

We are sorry about this delay, but all this is in the name of the Griffin models' quality.

    Today we are going to attend "We are many, we are Saab" event - exactly 2 years after "Save Saab" rally in Sofia.
What's new in Griffin Models? Windows for complete range are now ready. Only decals are still on their way. Can't hold anymore... with or without them I'm opening my web-store at 1 Feb 2012.
Also recently I resumed some abandoned projects: SKF Bertone Novanta, Saab Formula Junior and started new one: Saab 92HK "Husbilen" - Motorhome. All these will be produced in resin.

    Introducing two type of wheels again as compensation for non posting this weeks.... was busy with windows and decals.
US Turbo wheels: As I'm not so happy with this, they will not be used for current models. Next time I will remaster and produce them again. This (250 pcs.) will be destroyed. Anyway... I decided to show them now...

And one of my personal favorites: regular steel wheels !!! Love them !!!

    Day 13
    Today I'm introducing two type of wheels, as yesterday I was busy to finish construction of my vacuum forming machine.
At the left are metric TRX wheels with special tires, and the other wheels are Ronal Minilite or so called "Saab Silver Spoke" with another type of tires.

     Thank you for your interest and awesome e-mails, I received today. After Saabsunited, Saablog-in and other sites posted few words about me and my models I had huge web-site traffic today. Thank you SO MUCH again and again!!!

    As a "one man band" for me it's almost impossible to fulfill all your requests, that's why I'm answering here: initially my models will be available only as kits. That means you will be able to build a model of your own. But this also means great possibilities for personalisation and individualism!
    I'm working very hard to release another 3 series: sedan, nothback and CD Finlandia. So close! Anyway .. continuing with current models it's time to introduce another parts...

    Being extremely busy I almost forgot how important is to keep my site updated... Thank you for your patience and your kind reminders.
I'm happy to inform you that finally we have all previously missing parts for Enduro, and soon Griffin Models will launch it's first models!

 

During all this time we prepared few more different Classic Saab 900 bodies, and now it's range is absolutely complete until model year 1987!!!
For the very first time on collector's scene Griffin Models will launch Saab 900 Turbo Sedan, Saab 900 CD Finlandia and Saab 900 Notchback!
All this versions will be revealed next few months, and until then enjoy this few pics:

 

 

 

 

    All models that in the future will be presented here will be a are part of a special section of our new Web-site, called "The Saab Way". That's how we will slowly and persistently walk through the first 35 years of the Saab history together with famous book "The Saab Way" and Griffin Models as well.

 

    What can you expect from us in the future?

• A special version of Saab 900 Turbo Enduro will be produced ~ the end of 2011.
• Even now another 16 models are under development. Some of them are Saab 900 Sedan, Saab 900 CD and 5-door Saab 900.
• As we are rather flexible we will be able to offer you the unique opportunity to build a scale model of your own car. All the models have been designed to share the model parts, which allows for a great level of personalization. There will be a special section on the web site where you will be able to choose among alternative compartment types, left/right steering wheel, alloy/steel wheels, US or EU lights and many other details. You will get infinite possibilities for personalization if by adding a number of accessories such as fog lights, police lamp, taxi sign, “friction tester” set, etc. Now, imagine yourself building exact scale model of your favorite Saab… isn’t this a real FUN!?
